An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Business Support System (BSS) Solution Architect to join a high-performing technology team supporting global connectivity services.
In this role, you will take ownership of designing and delivering detailed end-to-end architecture plans across key BSS domains, ensuring scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions. You will provide technical leadership across development teams, translating complex business requirements into robust technical specifications and architectural documentation.
This is a pivotal position for someone with deep expertise in BSS platforms and integration, looking to play a strategic role in large-scale digital transformation programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business objectives and design IT solutions aligned with organisational goals
- Develop comprehensive architecture plans including system components, data flows, integration points, and security measures
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams, ensuring adherence to architectural standards and best practices
- Research and evaluate emerging technologies, frameworks, and tools to recommend the most suitable solutions
- Identify potential risks within proposed architectures and develop mitigation strategies
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including developers, system administrators, and business analysts to ensure seamless implementation
- Maintain accurate documentation of architectural designs, guidelines, and key decisions
- Optimise performance and scalability, considering load balancing, resilience, and resource utilisation
Skills & Experience Required
- Strong knowledge of core BSS components including Billing, CRM, Order Management, Revenue Assurance, and Mediation
- Several years’ experience in IT architecture, software development, or related technical roles
- Proven expertise in BSS integration, open API standards, and industry frameworks such as TM Forum
- Broad technical proficiency across cloud platforms, databases, networking, and modern software technologies
- Familiarity with architectural frameworks such as TOGAF or Zachman (advantageous)
- Experience with platforms such as Netcracker or similar solutions (e.g., Amdocs, Ericsson, Nokia)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Demonstrated leadership in guiding technical teams and influencing architectural decision-making
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related discipline preferred
