Are you ready to help shape the future of space communication? Holt Executive is seeking a full-time FPGA/Communication Engineer to join our partners innovative and international team in Luxembourg. You’ll play a key role in helping us develop their cutting-edge Cyclops laser communication solution, bringing lightspeed connectivity from space to Earth. If you’re an expert in FPGA platforms (Xilinx MPSoC) with a passion for space technology, we want to hear from you! What is our clients goal? To connect any point in the Solar System to Earth, starting with Low Earth Orbit. As they expand their laser communication projects for commercial and defense applications, they’re looking for highly motivated professionals to join them in creating the space missions of tomorrow.
Your Responsibilities
As part of the engineering team, you will:
- Design, implement, and verify RTL for space-based communication systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and consortium partners on system validation.
- Model, simulate, and validate system performance.
- Conduct technology trade-offs and technical analyses.
- Support system and sub-system level testing in labs, field environments, and on-orbit.
- Liaise with suppliers and manage follow-up discussions.
What We’re Looking For Minimum Requirements:
- Master’s degree in a relevant field and at least 5 years of hands-on experience.
- Proficiency with Xilinx Zynq Ultrascale+ platform.
- Proven experience in designing, verifying, and debugging MPSoC systems.
- Strong skills in Verilog/SystemVerilog for synthesis and verification, with additional proficiency in C/Python/TCL as a bonus.
- Solid knowledge of timing, resource, and power budgeting.
- Experience working with ARM, DDR, DMA, AXI, SPI, UART, 1G/10G Ethernet, PCI-Express, and FPGA MGT transceivers.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and datasheets.
Additional Desired Skills:
- Background in free-space optical system development or communication theory.
- Expertise in performance limitations, channel modeling, and atmospheric turbulence analysis.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Teams or the ability to learn quickly.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to write high-quality technical documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-standard task execution.
- Organized and capable of planning complex technical projects.
