Their Business Aviation function is the leading provider of SATCOM solutions to private airlines, operators and passengers worldwide, providing the ultimate inflight connectivity experience for the entire aircraft.
They require an Operations Engineer – SATCOM to be responsible for executing the technical support strategy for the expanding set of aviation products. This will include continuous improvement of products/services and co-ordination with hardware manufacturers, aircraft Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), and Value Added Resellers (VARs).
Key Responsibilities for the Operations Engineer – SATCOM:
- Ensure effective communications between internal support and external customers and supporting teams to ensure provisioning system, hub, radio module and terminal upgrades and engineering changes smoothly integrate into use.
- Support the strategic roadmap for new features and capabilities, and support engagement with external and internal stakeholders on behalf of the business line to introduce into the market sector.
- Proactively improve service support and feedback into systems to improve the service offering & increase service resilience.
- Contribute to create efficient operational and technical processes/procedures.
- Drive the resolution of complex and/or systemic trouble tickets relevant to VAR high priority customers.
- Lead the technical implementation of new products and services.
Essential Knowledge and Skills Required by the Operations Engineer – SATCOM:
- Understanding of Digital Communications Networks: protocols (IP, TCP, UDP, routing, etc) and architecture (routers, switches, firewall, etc).
- Ability to effectively manage change in an environment in constant technical evolution, while also embedding a culture of customer focus.
- Strong analytical and communication skills resulting in clear and concise explanations of observations and problems to a wide and non-technical audience.
- BS/BE in a relevant technical field (Electrical, Computer, Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical Engineering etc).
