Senior Technical Program Manager
We are pleased to be supporting a critical Senior Technical Program Manager hire for a global technology organisation operating within the satellite communications sector.
With advanced engineering, manufacturing, and product development teams located globally, our client develops cutting-edge satellite communication systems and Gateway Antenna technologies used across a wide variety of commercial and government applications.
We are seeking a highly motivated technical program leader to drive complex antenna and satellite communication product development programs, supporting execution from concept through to mass production.
This role will focus on leading multi-disciplinary engineering programs, acting as the primary technical interface for customers, and ensuring seamless collaboration between US-based stakeholders and global engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities for the Senior Technical Program Manager:
- Lead end-to-end program delivery from concept to launch, ensuring scope, cost, and schedule adherence.
- Manage the full product life cycle for Gateway Antenna platforms, from strategic planning to productization.
- Own program outcomes and delivery commitments to internal stakeholders and external customers.
- Support senior leadership in program strategy, customer engagement, and technical decision-making.
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams across hardware, RF, mechanical, and software disciplines.
- Coordinate engineering schedules, track progress, identify delays, and resolve program blockers.
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customer program teams.
- Deliver technical presentations, manage expectations, and support negotiations.
- Produce high-quality technical documentation and translate complex concepts into clear requirements.
- Identify and mitigate technical and program risks.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and executive dashboards.
- Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to prepare launch readiness and operational enablement.
- Support in-field testing, validation, and continuous improvement of product platforms.
Key Experience Needed for the Senior Technical Program Manager:
- Master’s degree (or higher) in RF Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- Expertise in RF, antenna, and satellite communication systems—preferably Gateway or ground-station technologies.
- 10+ years of experience leading complex technical programs in satellite communications, telecoms, or related hardware/software fields.
- Native-level English fluency; business-level Korean preferred.
- Experience coordinating global engineering teams and managing programs across multiple time zones.
- Strong proficiency with program tools (MS Project, Confluence, SharePoint, Jira).
- Excellent communication skills, strong business judgement, and the ability to manage technical and executive-level discussions.
- Experience in scoping, budgeting, planning, risk management, and metric-driven delivery.
- Multi-disciplinary engineering knowledge—hardware, mechanical, electrical, electronics—highly advantageous.
