Holt Executive are partnered with a high-tech, and highly innovative Space solutions leader that are focused on the design, development and support of electronics-based systems, spanning products for satellite simulation and test, Electrical Ground Support Equipment, TT&C, TM/TC systems, modems, and data processing systems.
Our partner is seeking an FPGA/Firmware Engineer to support the design, implementation, and testing of firmware used in their data processing and modem products (optical).
Key Responsibilities for the FPGA/Firmware Engineer:
- Analysis of the requirements and architecture, interface definition, functional decomposition and mapping of the architectures down to component/FPGA level.
- VHDL design, implementation (coding) and simulation activities.
- Integration and verification of the firmware design on the hardware.
- Working cross-functionally with other disciplines.
- Supporting the wider team during product testing and qualification activities.
- Ensuring the design, simulation, verification results are documented.
Key Skills & Experience for the FPGA/Firmware Engineer:
- A BSc. (or higher) in Electronics Engineering.
- 2+ years of experience in FPGA/Firmware development.
- Experience with writing VHDL, synthesis, and timing verification.
- Experience with OSVVM is an advantage.
- Experience in high-speed digital circuits and associated interfaces/processors.
- Some experience in lab test equipment for on-hardware validation is an advantage.
- Some experience in modulation, coding, and other DSP techniques is an advantage.
- Prior experience within Space, or Aerospace is an advantage.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Fluency in English.
