Their International Government unit provides reliable global communication for military, emergency, and government operations. They are seeking a Product Development Manager to drive innovation in the satellite industry during a time of rapid transformation.
As Product Development Manager you will lead the development and delivery of the programme, focusing on multi-terminal and multi-orbit aeronautical communication solutions focused on these three key areas.
- Capability Development: Design cutting-edge aeronautical solutions leveraging SD-WAN technologies to meet customer needs and advance growth strategies.
- Innovation: Shape technology roadmaps, collaborate on product development, and engage with industry partners to explore new applications.
- Subject Matter Expertise: Support business case development, product documentation, and the creation of compelling market materials.
Key Responsibilities for the Product Development Manager:
Capability Development:
- Lead the creation of market and technical requirements for multi-network/multi-terminal solutions within the programme and other government aeronautical markets as needed.
- Drive collaboration with internal teams and central product management to design end-to-end solution architectures for multi-orbit/multi-terminal systems, utilising SD-WAN capabilities.
- Document technical propositions for international government markets and support the drafting of technical product requirements for development activities (e.g., management briefs, RFIs, RFPs).
- Coordinate with central product development and engineering teams to deliver and productise defined solutions effectively.
- Provide regular updates to stakeholders on product progress, changes, and developments to ensure alignment and transparency throughout the process.
Innovation:
- Analyse market, strategy, and technology trends to identify competitive advantages that inform the orchestration strategy for government aeronautical markets.
- Contribute to defining the government aeronautical product strategy and roadmap, supporting feasibility assessments and growth initiatives.
- Assist in developing business cases to secure investments for expanding the portfolio.
- Collaborate with OEMs and third-party organisations to monitor and document market developments that could enhance the product proposition.
Subject Matter Expertise:
- Oversee the creation of detailed product and service description documents.
- Support go-to-market, sales, commercial, and market development teams by enabling the production of training materials, compelling storytelling, and market-facing collateral.
- Work with the Product Management Team to share knowledge on product roadmaps and capabilities, continuously enhancing the multi-terminal offering and the broader government aeronautical portfolio.
Key Skills and Experience Required by the Product Development Manager:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering discipline, master’s degree or above preferred.
- Experience in SD WAN technologies and their application in hybrid network environments, including satcom services.
- Good stakeholder management skills.
- Collaborative mind-set and strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain positive in high pressure and stressful situations.
