We have an exciting opportunity for a Payload System Architect to play a crucial role in the design of next generation communication payloads for space.
Key Responsibilities for the Payload System Architect:
- Design/Architecture of communication payloads.
- Lead mission analysis for communication systems requirements and down flows.
- SWaPC and reliability analysis, including simulations.
- Definition of interfaces (digital, electrical, RF, optical, mechanical/thermal, etc.)
- Oversight of subcontractors and partners when required.
- Space qualification activities, including bus and component selection.
- Support with testing, participate with integration, launch and in-orbit commissioning.
- Presentations and reports for the full development, including design reviews, test activities, manufacturing, qualifications, progress review, etc.
Key Skills & Experience Required by the Payload System Architect:
- A Masters, or PhD degree in Engineering.
- Proven experience in:
- Satellite Communication Payload architectures for different orbits LEO/MEO/GEO/HEO.
- Hardware and Software design, development, and integration for space applications.
- Digital design for space communications and Digital regenerative payloads.
- Inter-satellite links and digital phased array antennas.
- Proven experience with orbital analysis tools, Telemetry, Tracking, and Control (TT&C) platform, and Ansys Systems Tool Kit (STK).
- Experience with operations, including satellite TT&C operations, payload operations, users, and network management facilities.
- Swiss, or EU (27) Citizen, or holding a valid Swiss work permit.
This opportunity is a fulltime position, that requires onsite working in Lausanne, Switzerland.
