Our partner is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to work within multi-disciplinary teams to ensure the mechanical, electrical, and software design aspects of a project function seamlessly and the system meets the customer needs.

Key Responsibilities for the Senior Systems Engineer:

  • Requirements Capture and management.
  • Functional and Physical Systems Architecture Design and Definition.
  • System Modelling.
  • Development of Engineering Management Plans (Safety Management, Test Integration & Acceptance, Technical Risk Management).
  • Gathering of verification evidence for System Requirements.
  • Creation of Procurement Specifications for sub-systems and components.
  • Writing test specifications.
  • Conducting Design reviews.
  • Environmental Qualification Plans (EMC, Temperature, Shock & Vibration).

Key Skills & Experience Required for the Senior Systems Engineer:

Essential –

  • A degree in Engineering or physical sciences.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ systems engineering experience in a defence engineering (or similar) company.
  • Proficient in the use of requirements management tools (DOORS, Visure or R4J).
  • Work package management in JIRA.
  • Proficient in Report Writing.

 Desirable –

  • Technical Leadership of project teams with a significant level of responsibility for managing project risks and for delivering on time and on budget.
  • Experience in working closely with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Working in multi-disciplinary teams on projects with a high level of complexity.
  • Safety Management (MIL-STD 882E, DEF-STAN 00-56, ISO 12100:2010).
  • Statutory Compliance (CE Marking).
  • Camera Sensor Technology (InfraRed and visible spectrum, DRI performance).
  • Fault-Tree and Failure Mode Analysis.
