 Key Responsibilities for the Satellite AIT EGSE Engineer (Contract):

  • Maintenance and fault finding of electronic/RF test racks.
  • Computer system and network administration.
  • Programming and scripting languages.
  • Environmental and launch test campaign.
  • Preparing test specifications for test racks, reviewing data packs from suppliers, and supporting reviews of test equipment design and non-conformances.

 
Key Skills & Experience for the Satellite AIT EGSE Engineer (Contract):

  • Minimum of a degree in an Electrical Engineering related discipline or relevant experience in a similar role >5 years
  • Good theoretical and practical knowledge of electronic and RF test racks
  • Fault finding skills down to board and component level.
  • Network and computer administration in Windows and Linux environments
  • Knowledge of interfaces such as Mil-1553, SpaceWire, CAN bus, RS232/422 etc.

Key Responsibilities for the Satellite AIT Electrical Systems Engineer (Contract):

  • Designing and performing electrical and functional tests on a variety of subsystems (power, comms, data handling, AOCS, system control and FDIR) on test benches and spacecraft.
  • Writing and executing electrical integration procedures to electrically verify and connect the equipment during the build of the spacecraft.
  • Interpretation of electrical, functional and system test requirements from test specifications
  • Provide test solutions to meet the test specification requirements, from planning and kick-off meetings, through test sequence coding, procedure preparation and debugging to execution.
  • To provide technical inputs to project test reviews (Test Readiness Reviews, Post Test Reviews, Test Review Boards and Non-Conformance Review Boards)
  • Preparing and executing spacecraft system investigations in line with actions from Non-Conformance Review Boards (NRBs).
  • Support Spacecraft systems functional and performance tests during environmental tests (Reference test, TVAC, Magnetic, EMC, functional and performance tests).
  • Use Digital Design and Manufacturing Systems (DDMS) to prepare and execute work instructions to support the testing.

 
Key Skills and Experience for the Satellite AIT Electrical Systems Engineer (Contract):

  • Degree in an Electrical Engineering related discipline or relevant experience in a similar role >5 years.
  • Current hands-on experience in writing test sequences/scripts for execution of spacecraft tests from the Central Checkout System (CCS). 
  • Test sequence writing and debugging in a bespoke language (C and Java knowledge would be an advantage)
  • Competent in the use of various test equipment used for electrical measurements, e.g., DMM, oscilloscope, current probes, Data acquisition unit, and data bus monitors (1553 MilBus probes/analysers) would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of the operation of a variety of spacecraft subsystems and overall system (power, comms, data handling, AOCS, system control and FDIR)
  • Knowledge and experience of spacecraft systems and subsystem testing are essential, e.g., Data Handling, Packet Utilisation Standard, Data Bus Communications – 1553, SpaceWire, CAN bus, Power systems, FDIR.

The Field Telecom Technician II will be responsible for overseeing equipment installation, maintenance, and updates for remote communications systems for the needs of their customers in the Energy, Mining, and Maritime industries.

Key Responsibilities for the Field Telecom Technician II:

  • Install, troubleshoot, and assemble fixed/stabilized GEO/LEO/MEO VSAT systems, L-band systems, LTE systems, and IT/network equipment.
  • Conduct testing and equipment assembly in the workshop as required.
  • Configure, install, and troubleshoot various equipment, including routers, switches, access points, phones, VSAT antennas, modems, and cabling.

  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in the Onshore/Offshore remote communications industry is preferred.
    • Commensurate military qualification with satellite or radio communication equipment.
    • Qualified Electrical/ Instrumentation experience.
  • Preferred proven and demonstrable experience with satellite communications fundamentals, VSAT, antenna RF systems/sub-systems, cable installation and termination.
  • Proficient with iDirect, Newtec and Comtech Satellite Modems, L Band antennas, Stabilized antenna, Cisco routers, switches, and wireless Access Points.

Project Preparation Phase –
