They require a Senior Mission Database Engineer to be responsible for leading the design, development, and optimization of the Satellite Reference Database (SRDB) for future missions.

In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the database infrastructure that stores and manages critical mission data. You will closely collaborate with various stakeholders, such as satellite operations, ground segment, flight software and other engineering teams, to further evolve the SRDB to efficiently support several key aspects such as Satellite development, testing, planning, management and operations.

This role will help the team make a difference every day, by ensuring the team is well placed to drive missions forward, helping to make space safer and more sustainable for future generations.
 

Responsibilities for the Senior Mission Database Engineer:

  • Database Architecture & Design: Lead the architecture and deployment of robust SRDB solutions, ensuring high availability, scalability, and reliability for mission-critical satellite data.
  • Support Software Engineers: Collaborate with and support software engineers in the development of SRDB solutions, providing expertise and guidance to ensure seamless integration and functionality.
  • Data Integration & Management: Oversee the automated ingestion process and management of satellite telemetry, telecommand, and related mission data in the SRDB as well as generation of output data products.
  • Mission Information Base Generation: Develop and manage processes for generating the Mission Information Base (MIB) from the SRDB that is compatible with the MCS (SCOS 2000).
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Build and lead a database engineering team, providing technical leadership, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring alignment with project goals.
  • Automation & Innovation: Lead automation efforts to streamline the processing, ingestion, and analysis of satellite data, enhancing efficiency in database operations.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with Systems, Ground Segment, Flight Software, AIV and Operations teams to ensure that the SRDB supports all required mission data and functionality through all phases of the mission.
  • Verification & Validation: Implement processes to ensure data validity, tool validation, consistency and quality of SRDB content.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation for SRDB systems, data processes, and tools.

 
Experience required by the Senior Mission Database Engineer:

  • Bachelor, master’s degree or PhD in computer science, aerospace engineering or relevant engineering / science discipline.
  • 8+ years’ of spacecraft database engineering, or related field, previous experience within spacecraft operations/analysis would also be an advantage.
  • Proven experience with large-scale database systems and managing satellite or telemetry-related data.
  • Experience in generating mission-critical data outputs, such as a Mission Information Base.
  • Experience with industry standards, processes, protocols for spacecraft communications, such as CCSDS & PUS.
  • Solid understanding of satellite telemetry and telecommand packet structures (TM/TC) and its use of its systems controls e.g SCOS-2000.

They are seeking a Mechanical Inspector to be responsible for inspecting precision components from in-house manufacturing and assembly, as well as from subcontractors and suppliers. You will create and run CMM programs using PC-DMIS for both new and legacy components, ensuring accuracy and quality. Additionally, you will develop and update CMM setup and operation instructions for new and modified programs to maintain high standards throughout the processes.

Key Responsibilities for the Mechanical Inspector:

  • Inspect precision components from internal manufacturing and assembly, as well as from subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Develop, prove out, and execute CMM programs using PC-DMIS for both new and existing components.
  • Create and update setup and operation instructions for CMM programs, including adjustments for modified programs.
  • Conduct first-off inspections.
  • Perform First Article Inspection (FAI) reporting for single-level parts and complex multi-level assemblies.
  • Update and maintain all documentation related to inspection procedures.
  • Communicate with subcontractors and suppliers as needed.
  • Conduct source inspections, including Vendor Assessment Surveys (VAS) at supplier locations.
  • Perform patrol inspections of manufacturing areas to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and prepare dimensional reports as required.
  • Carry out calibration duties, including calibrating mechanical and electrical equipment and managing related quotations and purchase orders, with full training provided for these tasks.

 
Key Skills and Experience Required by the Mechanical Inspector:

  • A recognised Mechanical qualification and previous relevant experience of mechanical inspection.
  • Experience & understanding of different inspection techniques.
  • Experience in using precision measuring equipment.
  • Good working knowledge & experience of ISO 9001:2001 and ideally AS9100 Rev D.
  • Manufacturing experience (mechanical).
  • Ability to interpret Engineering Drawings.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawing tolerancing including Geometric Tolerancing.
  • CMM programming & operation preferably with experience using PC-DMIS software.

The UK CAA Licensed CAT A, B1 OR B2 Aircraft Engineers will leverage their expertise to perform comprehensive aircraft maintenance, both inside and outside the cabin. This includes maintaining In-Flight Entertainment Systems and ensuring all modifications comply with strict UK CAA regulations.

Salary – Upto £62.9k depending on license type + £5k to £8k towards license maintenance + £6150 shift allowance. 

Key Responsibilities for the UK CAA Licensed CAT A, B1 OR B2 Aircraft Engineers:

  • Perform built-in test (BIT) and manual test of IFE systems.
  • Troubleshoot electronic units, cabling or seat consoles in which failures occur down to the line replaceable modules, using knowledge of electronic theory.
  • Identify necessary repairs to restore functional acceptance, which may require replacing defective line replaceable modules and/or cabling.
  • Perform maintenance checks on Customer aircraft for various airlines.
  • Operate a vehicle on airport property and around aircraft.
  • Operate airline communications equipment.
  • Communicate and interface with customers.
  • Document the testing and repairs using computer and bar-coding equipment.
  • Assist in tracking the spare inventory.

 Key Skills and Experience Required by the UK CAA Licensed CAT A, B1 OR B2 Aircraft Engineers  

  • Licenses: Must have an A or B1 or B2 license with a Type Rating on (A380, A350, A330, A320, 787, 777, 767)
  • Must be able to pass a 5-year background check, extensive security and reference checks for Airside access.
  • Must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • General knowledge of fundamental electrical Engineer or related experience acquired through commercial aviation, military experience or technical school education is highly preferred, but not required.
  • IFE or avionics experience is highly preferred, but not essential.
  • Must have the ability to climb and work from a ladder or platform, and endure sitting, standing, bending or twisting for extended periods.
  • Must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to operate under extreme weather conditions and in confined spaces for extended periods.
  • Ability to read, comprehend and follow instructions, procedures, blueprints, diagrams, and manuals and to comprehend and follow verbal instructions in English.

Holt Executive are partnered with a leading Global Satellite and Space leader that provides reliable and secure satellite-delivered voice and high-speed data communications solutions to broadcast, telecommunications, corporate and government customers worldwide. They are now developing a LEO constellation that will revolutionize global broadband connectivity for enterprise.
 
Our partner is seeking a Modem Specialist to play a vital role in the design and development of user terminals and modems. 
 
Key Responsibilities for the Modem Specialist:

  • Responsible for the development and optmization of architecures relating to user terminals/modems to ensure that cost, performance, and reliability objectives are met.
  • Lead the discussion on trade-offs with performance, network features, and service performance.
  • Involvment with integration of the modem with other components, working with FPGA, RF, Software, and Hardware engineering.
  • Developing and implementing signal processing algorithms, covering modulation, demodulation, error correction, and data compression.
  • Analyze modem designs, perfomrance analysis, test review data and link budget analysis.
  • Ensure compliance is met with relevant industry standards.
  • Leading the development and testing of prototypes.
  • Interfacing with third-party vendors, manufacturers, and a cross-functional engineering and product team.   

Key Skills & Experience for the Modem Specialist

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • More than 5 years of experience in satellite communication (SATCOM) systems, modem design, and ideally FPGA design and signal processing.
  • Knowledge of digital communication systems.
  • Proficiency with MATLAB, Simulink, or similar.
  • Experience with DSP programming is a plus.
  • Experience with making trade-offs between performance and cost at the component and the system level.
  • Experience with the full lifecycle of embedded hardware designs – from inception, design, production, and fielding.

 
The successful candidate must be able to work in Canada and obtain Reliability Clearance.

This opportunity offers a hybrid work model with 4 days in the office per week and occasional travel is anticipated.
