Responsibilities
- Develop and review robotics system requirements and verification strategies (at spacecraft, subsystem, and unit levels) for on-orbit servicing missions.
- Review inputs from and lead co-engineering sessions with robotics suppliers to assess system suitability for specific missions and ensure compatibility.
- Plan and support the design of innovative technology and hardware, including unit modules and ground support equipment, to meet mission requirements.
- Collaborate with experts in other engineering disciplines (mechanical, thermal, software, electrical, etc.) to solve complex problems.
- Work with the AIV team to ensure robotics designs consider manufacturing, assembly, integration, and testing ease.
- Define and perform hardware-related activities throughout spacecraft design, development, AIV phases, and launch campaigns.
- Generate and maintain systems documentation, including specifications, ICDs, procedures, reports, technical notes, and design descriptions.
- Prepare inputs for project lifecycle reviews (e.g., PDR, CDR).
- Support procurement by engaging with the manufacturing supply chain and suppliers.
- Contribute to broader organizational projects and activities.
Essential Skills
- Degree in robotics, systems engineering, aerospace engineering, or another relevant discipline (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or equivalent).
- 5–10+ years of robotics experience.
- Proven experience in leading complex, safety-critical mechanism design lifecycles from concept through analysis, testing, and operations.
- Professional experience in robotics analysis, design/procurement, and testing, ideally for spacecraft.
- Deep understanding of robotics design and its challenges in the space environment.
- Knowledge of trade-offs in robotics system design, selection, and application.
- Familiarity with robotics suppliers, products, and R&D trends.
- Understanding of spacecraft mission lifecycles and milestones (e.g., MDR, PDR, CDR).
- Strong system engineering skills and requirements management experience across full project lifecycles.

Software PA Engineer
The Quality Management team provides support to projects in order to ensure that customer requirements are met. It works independently of projects, verifying compliance with product assurance (PA) requirements. It also operates at company level to ensure compliance with the ISO 9001 standard.
Under the responsibility of the Quality Manager, your role will be to:
- Act as a PA engineer on projects:
- Analyse the customer’s SW PA requirements and prepare the project specific SW product assurance plan taking into account the criticality of the software
- Ensure conformance with SW engineering and PA requirements during a project execution and promptly report deviations
- Provide regular reports on SW product assurance activities
- Participate in SW project reviews with our customers such as ESA and CNES

Bid Manager

They require a Bid Manager to develop bids and secure funding in support of a number of Business Development related areas including proposal production for commercial sales.
This role would suit someone with past experience in bids, ideally in the spacecraft sector or in complex engineering services or products, who wishes to grow responsibility in the end-to-end delivery of bids.
Responsibilities for the Bid Manager:
Bid Capture Management
- Take responsibility for managing and coordinating entire bids, or parts of bids as required, through the bid process from call opening all the way to bid submission.
- Control overall production of the bid volumes to ensure delivery on schedule.
- Draw on other relevant teams as needed, including: projects, engineering, procurement & contractual, finance, business analysis.
- Ensure bid execution according to bid PA/QA philosophy; conduct bid/no bid reviews and later stage bid reviews as appropriate.
- Control bid finances, working with finance team and with external partners.
- Support account management efforts with UKSA (UK Space Agency) or ESA (European Space Agency) as directed.
BD Team Support
- Keep track of bid opportunities including sources such as ESA, EU, UKSA and make propositions as to what future projects fit which opportunities.
- Maintain a database of future projects suitable for different bid types and opportunities, and work with the business team to support prioritisation of projects and R&D, feeding into service and capability strategy.
- Support business analysis team to evolve customer and competitor analyses.
Experience required by the Bid Manager:
- 2+ years’ experience working in bid management in the space industry, with a preference for those with experience of the full lifecycle of UKSA or ESA bids e.g. ARTES, GSTP, ITTs, UKSA SST programme.
- Excellent understanding of UKSA ecosystem, UKSA member states or other member state discussions and negotiations.
- Experience working with UKSA or ESA on space programmes.
- An excellent “sales / marketing style” in bid production which can be used to convey the selling points of the business, and to construct competitive but deliverable bids and commercial proposals.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills including to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Passion for and understanding of the space industry and ecosystem.
- Experience of ESA bid financials.
