Technical Service Desk Manager
Holt Executive are currently partnered with a Global Satellite Connectivity Organisation, a market leader in providing voice and high-speed data communications to a number of critical industries. With massive recent investment in their latest network infrastructure, they are at the forefront of space and satellite innovation.
They require a Technical Service Desk Manager – SATCOM to manage and support the Technical Service Desk which supports customers’ telecommunications needs. This includes receiving and actioning customer standard service requests, responding to service incidents and outages to diagnose faults and restore services, maintaining customer facing IT services, as well as testing and preparing satellite terminal hardware for field operations.
Key Responsibilities for the Technical Service Desk Manager – SATCOM:
- Leading the Service Desk function with a strong focus upon delivering best practice service desk support, driving incident and request management to meet SLAs.
- Promoting a strong ethos of customer satisfaction through responsive, professional, informative and considered interaction with clients across all medium.
- Recruitment of individuals who possess the relevant mix of technical, interpersonal and motivation to drive the service forward and develop their onward career.
- Creating, implementing and executing a comprehensive induction programme for new employees, ensuring that individuals are fully conversant with the requirements of the role and able to demonstrate readiness to work with appropriate levels of supervision.
- Striving for continual service improvement in all aspects of the service desks operations, promoting a highly structured approach to identifying, reviewing issues and taking corrective actions to avoid future repetition.
- Driving the monitoring and proactive response to events to minimise impact upon services and clients. Ensuring tickets are proactively administered and updated appropriately to reassure stakeholders that resolution is actively progressing.
- Ensuring documentation is proactively managed, maintained and reviewed to accurately reflect current best practice in terms of technical and customer knowledge.
Essential Knowledge and Skills required by the Technical Service Desk Manager – SATCOM:
- Significant experience of managing a small to medium multi-site technical service desk.
- Whilst this is not a technical role a broad technical knowledge would be advantageous.
- Previous experience in a Managed Service Provider environment, supporting multiple infrastructures.
- Focus on customer care and promoting a customer centric approach.
- The ability to take ownership of problems and proactively resolve technical problems, ensuring that technical solutions continue to meet business requirements.
- Both a user and service focused approach by taking ownership and accountability of escalated issues raised and creating resolutions to deliver an excellent support service.
- Hold or be able to hold Security Clearance.
Aero/Gov Product Innovation Manager
Holt Executive are currently partnered with a global leader within the Global Connectivity space to support a critical hire on a revolutionary Aeronautical programme, supporting and defining the Government and Defence product/market strategy.
They require an Aero/Gov – Product Innovation Manager who will be responsible for planning and delivering the programs capabilities. The role will cover everything from leading the execution of terminal capability developments, working, and engaging with analysis of the Aero market across Government and Defence whilst supporting the definition of product strategy and road map creation.
If you have experience in an innovation, Product Delivery or a Technology role and have a good understanding of the Aero/Gov Satellite Product Arena (Including hardware providers – Terminals etc) and are keen on a long-term contract, it would be great to hear from you.
Key responsibilities for the Aero/Gov – Product Innovation Manager:
- Lead the execution of terminal capability developments under initiative programmes and the wider government aeronautical market as needed, up to product launch.
- Support the definition of the government aero product strategy & roadmap and contribute to the evaluation and feasibility assessment of growth programmes.
- Document the technical proposition and write technical product requirements to support the development activities (e.g., management briefs, RFI, RFPs, etc.)
- Contribute to the business case developments to secure investments for expanding the portfolio and the wider government aeronautical capability set, as needed.
- Work across internal functions and third parties to assess, establish and manage partnerships for launching the product set and other government aeronautical capabilities, as needed.
- Manage the development of product/service description documents in fine and explicit details.
- Work across functions with the go to market, sales, commercial and market development teams to ensure training materials and compelling storytelling and market facing collaterals can be effectively produced.
- Work with other business units to coordinate the product requirements for delivering the product set and the wider government aeronautical capability set.
- Work with CTO to facilitate knowledge sharing on the business networks and capabilities, for enhancing the capability set as well as the wider government aeronautical portfolio.
- Work with key OEMs and other third-party organisation to understand and document key developments in the market.
Essential Knowledge and Skills for the Aero/Gov – Product Innovation Manager:
- Experience in aeronautical product development or system integration.
- Excellent technical writing skills.
- Good stakeholder management skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering discipline or master’s degree.
- Experience working with and delivering services and projects related to satellite terminals or other remote communication systems is highly regarded.
- Business to Government industry experience is desired.
- Related commercial experience is a bonus.
Project Support Officer (Satellite Communications)
Holt Executive are currently partnered with a Global Satellite Connectivity Organisation, a market leader in providing voice and high-speed data communications to a number of critical industries. With massive recent investment in their latest network infrastructure, they are at the forefront of space and satellite innovation.
They require a Project Support Officer, to be responsible for administering and co-ordinating a critical satellite navigation program with a number of internal and external stakeholders. You will work closely with a senior project manager and cross-functional teams to ensure the program is administered and managed for successful delivery.
Key Responsibilities for the Project Support Officer:
- Work closely with a Senior Project Manager to provide administration support and management of the development of a satellite navigation project, including planning, execution, monitoring, and controlling phases.
- Assist in setting up meetings, workshops for major milestones, and all other project-related activities.
- Management of project documentation configuration control in Microsoft Teams and SharePoint.
- Create presentations and project reports using Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Ensure compliance with project management methodology and standards.
Experience required by the Project Support Officer:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in project administration and management in the technology or satellite industry.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Good understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques.
- Familiar with government engineering project template (AusDefCon) is highly desirable.
- Bachelor’s degree in technology field is preferred.
Aerospace – Maintenance Service Representative
Holt Executive are partnered with a prominent aviation technology pioneer, providing market-leading products to some of the biggest names in commercial aviation. They are looking for an experienced Maintenance Service Representative – Aerospace to perform on-site support in Amsterdam.
As Maintenance Service Representative – Aerospace you will perform maintenance, preventive maintenance and alterations to our clients In-flight Entertainment and Connectivity Systems on aircraft to include, but not limited to: troubleshooting and testing of electronic assemblies and units, the removal and replacement of electronic assemblies, units or cabling while installed in the aircraft and the modification and alteration of installed equipment.
Key Responsibilities for the Maintenance Service Representative – Aerospace:
- Perform built-in test (BIT) and manual test of IFE systems.
- Troubleshoot electronic units, cabling or seat consoles in which failures occur down to the line replaceable modules, using knowledge of electronic theory.
- Identify necessary repairs to restore functional acceptance, which may require the removal and replacement of defective line replaceable modules and/or cabling.
- Communicate and interface with customers.
- Document the testing and repairs using computer and bar-coding equipment.
- Receive, prepare parts and assist in tracking the spares inventory.
- Check aircraft logs for defects including deferrals.
- Maintain integrity of Maintenance Service Stores Inventory by completing all necessary stock room procedures, booking parts into stock, on to aircraft and out to repair.
- Endeavour to meet, greet and dispatch each and every flight and perform the required tasks as per contract.
- Ensure all necessary customer and Maintenance Service documentation is properly completed and filed prior to the end of the shift.

- Must hold an EASA CAT A1, B1, B2 licence with B777/GE90 or A380 type rating.

The successful incumbent will develop solutions to meet specific customer requirements utilising either existing or newly developed hardware, product configurations and/or services, and will collaborate with functional teams to bring new hardware and services into operation.
Key Responsibilities for the Solutions Architect / Senior Network Engineer – SATCOM:
• Act as a technical interface to the presales and sales team.

Essential Knowledge and Skills required by the Solutions Architect / Senior Network Engineer – SATCOM:
• Must hold a relevant engineering degree, with demonstrable experience in the communications industry.

• Track record of creating detailed technical proposals.
• Understanding of Satellite communications architecture (e.g., ground segment and Terminals).
• Strong understanding of RF networks and technologies.

Business Systems Analyst – SATCOM

With massive recent investment in their latest network infrastructure, they are at the forefront of space and satellite innovation.
They require a Business Systems Analyst (12 Month FTC) to solicit, understand, and document the customer’s business requirements, processes and workflows developing both written and visual depictions of requirements and process flows. This role works closely with other BSAs, Developers, Testers, and Production Support through each stage of the software development lifecycle and also demonstrates both existing and new functionality to the customer stakeholders.
Responsibilities for the Business Systems Analyst (12 Month FTC):
- Serve as a key liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams.
- Create business requirements, use cases, or user stories as required to represent business needs.
- Facilitate process and value stream discussions, develop customer journeys, use cases, platform requirements.
- Derive, document, prioritise, communicate, and gain approval for business, functional, data, integration, migration and technical requirements.
- Analyse and assess requirements to identify upstream and downstream system and process impacts to proactively communicate impacts, risks, and solutions to other technology and business owners.

Service Desk Engineer
Holt Executive are partnered with a Global Satellite Connectivity Organisation, a market leader in providing voice and high-speed data communications to a number of critical industries. With massive recent investment in their latest network infrastructure, they are at the forefront of space and satellite innovation.
They require a Service Desk Engineer to support the Global Government (G2) direct customers’ telecommunications needs and be the first point of contact for their operational support requirements. This will include receiving and actioning customer standard service requests, responding to service incidents and outages to diagnose faults and restore services, maintaining customer facing IT services, as well as testing and preparing satellite terminal hardware for field operations.
The Service Desk Engineer will need to engage with both the end customer in the field as well as other internal teams to manage the delivery and/or restoration of services within required time frames. You will work under the direct supervision of the Regional Engineering Manager with minimal supervision and instruction on daily work and more detailed guidance on new assignments to develop the skills required to support customers.
The Service Desk will operate a 24/7/365 follow the sun model between Sydney (8hrs), London (8hrs) and Ottawa (8hrs), requiring strong communications skills, interpreting and applying policies and processes to resolve technical problems with accurate and clearly documented case notes, to enable support cases to be transitioned seamlessly between regional team shifts.
Key Responsibilities for the Service Desk Engineer:
- Answer customer technical support calls and emails in fluent English language
- Triage the requests and incidents, conduct further investigation as required and progress the delivery or resolution of technical problems
- Work a rotating shift pattern to ensure the service desk is supported at all times (24/7/365)
- Provide customer staff in the field with telephone support on equipment operation and fault-finding
- Understand satellite terminals from a set up and support perspective
- Completion of allocated tasks to required quality within the agreed completion schedule
- Ensure all support Service Level Agreements are met, keeping customer updated on progress
- Conduct maintenance activities on IT systems and satellite terminal hardware in accordance with documented Work Instructions
- Generation of knowledge articles to assist or speed up future operations
Essential Knowledge and Skills for the Service Desk Engineer:
- A Diploma or Degree in an Engineering discipline relevant to IT server administration or IP network engineering or telecommunications
- Must hold citizenship and have a suitable background to qualify and maintain a government security clearance for the location country
- Maintenance and support of physical and virtual Windows Server systems
- Troubleshooting and resolving networking or communications systems incidents
- Ability to prepare technical documentation and reports under supervision
- Must be able to listen and empathise with customer issues – putting the customer first
- Must have a sense of urgency and ownership of customer requirements and incidents
- Motivated to achieve required task to industry BEST standard in a busy environment
Desirable Knowledge and Skills:
- Certifications in IP Networking / Cisco networking
- Experience in satellite communications, telecommunications and/or IP networks
- Knowledge of Linux and Microsoft operating systems
- Knowledge of network virtualisation technologies (VMware, Hyper-V)
- VSAT installation and fault-finding experience
