Systems and Software Architect

They are now developing a LEO constellation that will revolutionize global broadband connectivity for enterprise.

Our partner is seeking a Senior level Systems and Software Architect to play a vital role the architecture, design, development, and testing of next-generation constellation software.

Key Responsibilities for the Systems and Software Architect:

• Take a lead in the design, development, and implementation of very advanced embedded and satellite ground segment software systems.
• Lead the architecture and design of the management plane, spanning scalable and modular Element Management System (EMS) and Network Management System (NMS) components.
• Definition and architecture of software solutions across the full stack (embedded modules and board support packages to OS-level integration and system-wide services).
• Drive and implement advanced testing methodologies, including Test-Driven Development (TDD) and software simulation frameworks.
• Be a technical leader and mentor to the software teams, supporting with design and code reviews, and ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices.
• Support the wider team in the identification, troubleshooting, and resolving of complex software issues.
• Design and implement scalable networking features (e.g., MPLS).
• Use modern software tools and practices, including virtualization, containerization, and cloud technologies.

Key Skills & Experience for the Systems and Software Architect:

• A degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 15+ years of experience in software development and testing, with a strong focus on embedded systems and real-time applications.
• Proven experience as a technical lead, or architect.
• Proven experience in the design of software with consideration for hardware resource constraints and system-level integration.
• Strong experience architecting complex systems, including management planes with Element Management System (EMS) and Network Management System (NMS) components.
• Strong understanding of system-level concepts, including fault management, performance monitoring, configuration management, networking, storage, operating systems, and cybersecurity considerations.
• Proficiency in modern C++ (C++14/17/20).
• Experience with Linux operating systems.

The successful candidate must be able to work in Canada and be able to obtain a Reliability Clearance.

Software Developer

Our partner is seeking a Software Developer to play a vital role in development, productization, and maintenance of the constellation system model.    

Key Responsibilities for the Software Developer:

• Support in the software development of the System Model suite, with a focus on improving its ability as an operational production engine across both Cloud and on-premise environments.
• Work cross-functionally with systems engineering, product owners, software architects, and the test team to gather and review requirements, and deliver successful software solutions.  
• Collaborate closely with the software architect to provide technical leadership within the team.
• Support and participate in all aspects of software development including requirements analysis, design, implementation, review, testing and maintenance.
• Creation of technical documentation for both internal team stakeholders, and wider company stakeholders.

Key Skills & Experience for the Software Developer:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years professional experience within software development/engineering.
• Experience in C++ (v20 preferred), Golang, SQL, Python, Bash, Java Spring.
• Experience with Kubernetes and developing Helm charts, Terraform, Packer, Ansible, containerization & secret management (Azure Key Vault, Hashicorp Vault).
• Experience with Azure Cloud technologies such as Azure fundamentals, Azure Identity and Access Management, Azure Networking.
• Experience with DevOps technologies such as Gitlab CI/CD, and experience in automating end-to-end deployments.
• Agile development experience.
• Experience in satellite and/or communications systems is an advantage.

The successful candidate must be able to work in Canada and be able to obtain a Reliability Clearance.

Holt Executive are partnered Netherlands based supplier of AOCS, Propulsion, Avionics, and Thermal solutions for the Space industry.

Our partner is seeking a Test Operator to carry out tests and generate data to ensure product compliance according to specifications and requirements. Working to pre-established processes and procedures, the Test Operator will support with the undertaking and reporting of electrical and mechanical tests.   

Key Responsibilities for the Test Operator:

• Executing both electrical and mechanical tests on products.
• Validation of procedures and test set ups working collaboratively with the systems engineers.
• Reporting test results and ensuring documentation is up to date.
• Continuously look to improve test setups and processes.
• Work cross functionally to ensure weekly and daily test planning is in place.

Key Skills & Experience for the Test Operator:

• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Proficiency in English (C2).
• Experience in the space industry, preferably as a satellite equipment supplier.
• Knowledge on ECSS and Space Design Process Flow (EQSR, PDR, CDR, MRR, TRR, TRB, DRB).
• Intermediate in Dutch (B1) is required.

The successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the Schengen Area.

You’ll work closely with the Systems Engineering and Integration, Verification & Validation teams, ensuring that the program’s technical baseline is fully traceable, documented, and audit-ready.
