We have an exciting opportunity for a Payload Systems Engineer with vast experience in Communication/RF Payloads to play a crucial role in managing and optimizing satellite payload communication systems.
 
Key Skills & Experience Required by the Payload Systems Engineer

  • Vast experience and knowledge in satellite communication systems, radio frequency engineering, and signal processing.
  • Experience and knowledge with payload communication protocols, data links, and modulation schemes.
  • An understanding of satellite communication standards such as CCSDS.
  • Strong understanding of antenna systems, frequency bands, and propagation models.
  • Experience and expertise in software-defined radios (SDR) and networking protocols.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate technical concepts clearly.
  • US Citizenship.

As a Command & Data Handling Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and integration of spacecraft C&DH systems, ensuring the success of missions in orbit. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, contributing to the full lifecycle of satellite missions, from concept design to launch and operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop command and data handling systems for spacecraft.
  • Define onboard computing architectures, including telemetry, fault management, and data processing.
  • Select, integrate, and test space-grade processors, FPGAs, and memory modules.
  • Develop firmware and software for C&DH subsystems, ensuring compatibility with mission requirements.
  • Work closely with systems, avionics, and software engineers to ensure seamless spacecraft operations.
  • Support hardware-in-the-loop testing, environmental testing, and mission simulations.
  • Ensure compliance with ECSS/NASA standards for space systems.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
